I especially liked the eavesdropping scene and the gifts Severin demonstrates. This book is great for older female tweens, teens, and young adults. Now, for the first time since the age of the Graces, demons walk the world. I’m still in shock by the events of this book. The second of a trilogy, this book is another home run. I absolutely love Melissa Caruso’s books. These are fantasy at its best. If you haven’t started this series you should do yourself a favor and get on it right now. The second book in a trilogy can sometimes feel a bit disappointing, a lead up to the grand finale. This didn’t, it was a good story in its own right, developed the characters so that you really start to care about them and has set the third book up nicely. Don’t want to wait too long for it! It's like the last piece of a block of really rich, succulent, dark chocolate. You've eagerly eaten the rest of the block and you *know* that there will be more chocolate in the future but you don't know when. So you try to eat this last piece slowly, savouring every crumb, but give in and cram the lot in your mouth. Now all that is left is delicious anticipation of the next block, the finale.
