• 5.0 out of 5 stars from 710view -- Beautifully written. : Amazing book so far and I'm loving the aesthetic and cover graphics! Any idiot who downvotes just because it's not "canon" is just plain stupid as it clearly states this is a "speculative novel" based off the short stand alone episode from Star Wars Visions. This is the first Novel I've read since Highschool mainly since nothing seemed to spark my interest but after that teaser episode I definitely had to find out more about this mysterious Ronin character. For example, “[t]he woodcutter, who thought he had been spoken to, nodded sagely.” Or “[t]he following morning, he stretched the cold out of his limbs as he rose and ate half a ration-stick from his pouch, the last remaining.” In my opinion, having that phrase in the middle of the sentence, attempting to describe the noun in the very beginning, breaks the flow of the entire sentence. I understand that appositive phrases are sometimes necessary (I even used one in the previous sentence) in writing, but this book goes overboard with the appositive phrases. Harder -- An amazing novel and a great Star Wars : If you ever wanted to see Star Wars that isn't just vaguely inspired by jidaigeki (basically samurai fiction) but that is, openly and thoroughly, a jidaigeki version of Star Wars, this novel gives you that, and it does so with a cast of engaging and memorable characters, many of which show more personality in one novel than most Star Wars characters get in an entire series.
